Passing of UA Local 179 Member Abe Reddekopp

May 27, 2013

Abe Reddekopp
July 12, 1967 – May 24, 2013

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Abe was born on July 12, 1967 to Isaac and Anna Reddekopp, in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Saskatoon where he went to school, got into mischief and had many laughs with his many brothers, sisters and close friends. In 1985, he met his one and only Rhonda. They married in 1990, and then he became a proud father only two years later to James (1992), Austin (1993), and his "baby girl" Cydney (1998).

The family has lived in Martensville for the past 19 years while Abe worked out of UA Local 179 Union which he was very loyal to. His wife and children were his passion, his strength and pride in everything they accomplished on their own and as a family. Abe had an amazing ability to be hilarious in almost any situation he came across and with that ability, he was always the strength that everyone depended on and will never forget. Abe always worked hard at everything he did but he loved to work harder at travelling, fishing and just simply "getting away from it all" to relax with Rhonda and the kids anywhere they could be together, especially at home.

He is survived by his loving wife Rhonda of 28 years, his three children James, Austin, and Cydney, his mother Anna, his brothers and sisters, Pat (Vital), Liz (Matt), Anne (Mel), Ike, John (Eloise), Jake, Susan (Malcolm), Cathy, Henry (Shelley), Bill (Nona), and numerous brother and sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Isaac, a brother at infancy, and his nephew Phillip. Thursday, May 30, 2013 will be a visitation for all to come from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home (corners of 4th Ave and 25th Street). There will be a celebration of life on Friday, May 31st at Mayfair United Church at 2:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted but charity donations to the CNIB in lieu are also welcome.
Email condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home. Ph 306-244-5577.

A part of us he took with him
But his love he left us to keep
So we will never really be parted
The bond between us is too deep.
We love and miss you. Xoxo
